My new website!

Hello again, dear old blog.

Although I have not been able to give this lovely old blog all the attention it deserves, I am happy to finally have my new website up and going! Grab a wicker chair and some ice-cold lemonade, and take a gander at some great antique and vintage photographs for sale! I will display some of my favorites from own collection as soon as I have a chance.

I am also interested in buying antique and vintage photographs. You can email me directly at sharon@timetrekkerphotos.com

Would love to see you there!

RAILROAD SURVEYING CREW TAKES A BREAK

Saturday, August 18, 2012

O.K. So, I haven't posted on this blog for a long time. I like this blog, and now that I no longer have a website, maybe I'll post on this blog more often. I'll try to start the "photo of the week" thing again, and see how it goes. But, classes start again on Monday...not a good omen for this blog! We'll see. We'll see.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

WW 1 U.S. Soldier and American flag.

Independence Day with Betsy Ross

Info and photos from the collection of Glenda Popielarski of Recycled Relatives.

The photographer is Hart from Minot, North Dakota.  That's the small town in the news right now that is under flood water (I think).

Info written in old ink on one of the folders: Ruth Estella Stahl as Betsy Ross.  Feb. 22, 1918, age 11 years 9 months.  May 17, 1906 - July 4, 1919.  Yes, she died at the age of 13 on the fourth of July!  Here's the info I got from the seller:

She was killed on July 4, 1919 when a car in which she was sitting was struck by an airplane piloted by Lieutenant Chester Jacobson during a holiday flying exhibition (according to a report by the Towner County, North Dakota, Hansboro News at the time).
